Halloween this year has been majorly influenced by my reading World War Z. This book is AMAZING...even if you aren’t into the whole zombie-genre. I literally couldn't put it down.
The movie is due out December 2012 and I was excited about it (for a whole 2 seconds) until I heard how much they are changing it. Making it an action movie where Brad Pitt races to save humanity from the growing zombie threat. Blah! It's been done. Way to ruin a good thing Hollywood.
The best thing about the book is how different it is from the usual zombie storyline. It deals with social issues, government cover-up and lies, false "cures" created by pharmaceutical companies (and the way they just don't care as along as they are making lots of money) and human nature in general.
Ok, sorry. Didn't mean for this turned into a book review all of a sudden!
Anyway, World War Z definitely got me in the “holiday mood” this year. The house is decorated and I put together the perfect costume...a zombie! I've got the make-up, the clothes, the blood, the bite marks and scars. I've gone the whole 9 yards on this one. Even Achilles gets to join in on the fun as my zombie skeleton dog.
I honestly cannot remember the last time I was so excited about Halloween.
